St. Paul’s Preschool is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Private Academic Schools and the extended hours program is also certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare.   Classes are housed in the large, cheerful and well furnished rooms at St. Paul's United Methodist Church.  Our staff members are dedicated, caring professionals.  Each  preschool class of 10-16 children is under the supervision of a teacher and a teacher's aide who assists the teacher with the class.  Each preschool with extended hours group of children is led by a group supervisor who works in cooperation with the coordinator, aides, and assistant group supervisors to provide an experience that meets the needs of the children.

Each child entering our preschool will be helped by trained teachers and staff members to develop at his/her own rate in a relaxed atmosphere.  Your child will be provided with a wide range of experiences which will help to prepare him/her for successful school experiences to follow.  Our well-rounded program is presented in a Christian atmosphere.  Classes are kept small, providing the individual attention needed by a very young child and still have the advantages of social experiences in a group. Our preschool curriculum emphasizes social growth, as well as intellectual, physical and emotional development of each child.  Our goals include:

                           1.           Helping the child feel secure and positive about himself/herself in a group situation.

                           2.           Helping to develop gross and fine motor skills.

                           3.           Helping to develop hand-eye coordination.

                           4.           Helping to develop the readiness skills geared to the maturity level of the child.

The methods used to help develop each child into a well-rounded individual include storytelling, dramatization, drawing, painting, cutting, pasting, music, games, cooking and many others.  The curriculum is further enriched through field trips and visits by community members sharing their talents which are of interest to young children.

Our preschool program is offered to children who are two years, six months and older when school opens in September.  Children 18 months old through kindergarten age are enrolled in our preschool with extended hours.  Each child will be enrolled in a class appropriate to his age.  Our added "extra" is the extended-hours program.  Children may arrive at the center as early as 7:00 A.M.  If you choose, he/she may bring his/her lunch and stay as late as 6:00 P.M.
